Who we are

LAVA is operated by Lava Studios. Contact: info@lava.studios. The product lives at lavastudios.app and in the LAVA iOS and Android apps.

What we collect

Account: email, authentication data, handle, display name, bio, avatar, age attestation.
Content you post: videos, titles, captions, comments, and direct messages.
Social graph: follows, blocks, likes/votes, reports.
Device: session identifiers and, if you allow it, a push notification token.
Product analytics: events such as views, submits, shares, and votes so we can operate and improve LAVA.
Waitlist email if you signed up before creating an account.

How we use it

We use this information to run the challenge product: show public videos on Watch, send transactional email and push (new challenge, a follow, a comment, a message), moderate abuse, and keep the service secure. Videos you submit as public proof are shown to other people on Watch and on shared links.

Processors

We use infrastructure providers to host the app, database, file storage, authentication, email, and push delivery (currently including Vercel, Supabase, Resend, and Expo). We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep account and content data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, videos, comments, messages, and auth record. Residual backups and logs may persist for a limited time for security and disaster recovery.

Your rights (including GDPR)

You can access and update your profile in the app. You can delete individual videos you posted. You can delete your whole account in the LAVA app: You → Settings → Delete account. That is the App Store / GDPR erasure path. You may also email info@lava.studios to request access, correction, or deletion. Where GDPR applies you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

LAVA is not directed at children under 16. Challenges state a minimum age. You are responsible for meeting that age (or having guardian permission where the law requires it).
